Field-Based | SC, NC, PA, MA and CT | $32-$45 per hour

Do you hold NICET Level II certification and have hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems? Are you dependable, safety-focused and comfortable traveling between different job sites?

The role

DVM Industries is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to support experienced technicians with the installation, testing, programming, troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm systems.

This is a field-based position, with assignments changing based on project needs. Applications are welcomed from candidates located in South Carolina, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Perform fire alarm installation, testing, programming, inspections, and repairs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system faults, including during on-call/emergency service calls
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system specifications
  • Review site conditions and flag safety concerns before work begins
  • Follow NEC, local codes, and AHJ requirements on every job
  • Complete a detailed job report at the end of every service call, documenting work performed, materials used, test results, and any outstanding deficiencies
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, supervisors, and AHJ/fire marshal contacts
  • Maintain the company vehicle, tools, and stocked inventory in proper working order
  • Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures on-site
  • Report incidents, unsafe conditions, or project concerns immediately

The person

You must have:

  • A valid driver's license
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable attendance and good timekeeping
  • A careful and accurate approach to your work
  • Flexibility to work across changing job sites
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • You must also be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights and operate in confined spaces and varying indoor or outdoor conditions.
