Work Location
Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT; the position can be flexible with priority for candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in office) in Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, and Miami, FL. Remote arrangement considered for qualified candidates with East Coast hours.

Octagon seeks an experienced Transportation Lead to support a global hospitality program for FIFA World Cup 2026, managing transportation logistics across the U.S. leading up to the event.
- Plan, manage, administer and deliver ground transportation.
- Provide financial account support: client budget, contracts, invoicing, rate tracking, PO creation, supplier payments, and final reconciliation.
- Collaborate with suppliers for data exchange on scheduling, guest management, and logistics.
- Monitor supplier performance to meet agreed service levels (timelines, quality, satisfaction).
- Resolve issues promptly, maintaining high guest experience standards.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers and team members.
- Oversee staff training; ensure all staff, suppliers, and drivers meet expectations.
- Liaise with vendors to secure reliable vehicles, drivers, and services.
- Serve as main point of contact between organization and supplier, ensuring alignment of expectations.
- Manage all transportation logistics for the hospitality program.
- Communicate daily with team to update trackers and maintain accurate records.
- Create and maintain transport planner and manifest.
- Coordinate arrival/departure schedules for guests.
- Ensure smooth operations on match days, monitor vehicle readiness.
- Manage parking pass distribution.
- Control transportation budget and supplier cost‑effectiveness.
- Approve invoices and ensure reconciliation accuracy.
- Serve as client contact for transportation concerns.
- Have extensive experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic role in sports or entertainment.
- Proven transport event experience.
- Enjoy managing a team.
- Communicate clearly.
- Can collaborate across disciplines and partners.
- Past transportation lead for major events.
- 10+ years planning and scheduling transportation.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Patient, level‑headed, cool under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, organizational skills.
- Flexible, can‑do attitude; willing to work weekends.
- Comfortable with moderate travel and nights/weekends on site.
- Focused, performance‑driven, think on feet, initiative, teamwork under pressure.
- Enjoy working in a large team and managing own team.
- Can remain stationary at least 50% of time.
- Willing to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed.
Annualized rate: $100,000; not overtime‑eligible. Contract positions are not benefits‑eligible.
