General Laborer
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Laborer to join our facilities team on a temporary basis. This role involves managing all incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries, as well as providing general labor support for various facility operations and maintenance tasks. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with onsite parking available.
Responsibilities- Sort, distribute, and deliver incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments and personnel throughout the facility.
- Process outgoing mail and packages, including weighing, labeling, and arranging courier pickups.
- Operate postage meters, mail sorting equipment, and package tracking systems.
- Maintain accurate mail logs and delivery records.
- Handle certified mail, registered mail, and express deliveries according to proper procedures.
- Coordinate with courier services and shipping vendors.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and distributing office supplies and equipment.
- Move furniture, equipment, and boxes as needed for office relocations or reconfigurations.
- Perform basic building maintenance tasks including changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
- Set up and break down conference rooms and meeting spaces for events.
- Assist with inventory management and stock organization in storage areas.
- Support facility staff with special projects and seasonal tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of mailroom and work areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn mail tracking software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Good communication skills and professional demeanor.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous mailroom or warehouse experience.
- Familiarity with shipping carriers (USPS, Fed Ex, UPS).
- Experience operating pallet jacks.
- Basic handyman or maintenance skills.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Stamford, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
