International Programs Coordinator, Stanford Law School

The International Programs Coordinator is the chief administrator for six graduate degree programs (JSM, JSD and LLM), the primary resource for students and program applicants, and the go-to person for questions and issues related to these programs. In this role you are also responsible for the Visiting Scholar program and the Global Quarter Program. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid with additional reporting to the Associate Dean for Advanced Degree Programs and the Associate Dean for Global Programs.

Additionally, the International Programs Coordinator will take direction from the faculty member in charge of each of the graduate degree programs and the Global Quarter Program.

The position should be especially appealing to candidates who are excited about the chance to assist scholars and students hailing from across the globe. If you are a diligent team player with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, a strong communicator, and have the patience to learn complicated systems and processes, your skills will be well suited to this role.

The student-facing nature of the coordinator position should attract candidates who thrive in a fully in-person work environment; as such, this position requires an on-campus presence 5 days per week.

Core Duties

* Review documents and forms for completeness, track files for follow up and distribute for review.

* Research and resolve issues, refer complex issues to other staff such as the Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid, the Associate Dean for

Advanced Degree Programs, and the Associate Dean for Global Programs.

* Input data, update electronic databases, websites, literature, and associated materials. May collect/gather/validate data, prepare basic reports (including annual budgets) for the various degree programs and the visiting scholar program.

* Coordinate logistics for outreach activities, meetings and events (e.g. Orientation, Graduation, lunch seminars, information sessions, intensive overseas week-long programs, annual introductory course) that pertain to graduate degree programs, the visiting scholar program, and our immersive global program.

* Respond to routine inquiries from the general applicant pool, students, faculty, staff, and any other external constituents.

* Serve as subject matter resource to students and teaching fellows associated with each graduate degree program; interact with other campus organizations (e.g. Bechtel International Center for visa issues, Graduate Admissions for credential issues).

* Contribute to general office administration and process improvements for the various programs.

* Other duties may also be assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

Associates degree and at least one year of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in an academic setting strongly preferred.

* Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word Press, People Soft, Oracle.

* Ability to interact with people from different cultures.

Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment in challenging situations, manage multiple deadlines, juggle complicated tasks.

* Previous experience working with visas.

The expected pay range for this position is $34.36 to $40.29 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
