Position: Life Science Research Professional 1 - SCI (OnSite)

Life Science Research Professional 1 – Xiao Lab (Onsite Work Agreement)

The Xiao Laboratory is a part of the Stanford Biochemistry and Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI). We are a chemical systems biology group focused on developing creative mass spectrometry (MS)-based strategies, combined with data science, to understand mechanisms of metabolic regulation over protein function in health and disease. We aim to use this as a basis to develop translational therapeutics for aging, metabolic disease, and cancer.

SCI is one of an elite group of National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers and a prominent, dynamic, growing, and complex institute within the Stanford University School of Medicine. You will work with a leading-edge community of faculty and staff on basic science and clinical/translational investigations that are fundamentally changing biomedical science and health care.

We are seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 to perform experiments and data analysis, contribute to publications, and support activities in a newly-established group  successful candidate will perform molecular biology experiments involving genetic and pharmacological interventions in cells, as well as functional assays. The candidate will also have the opportunity to perform animal experiments, proteomics, metabolomics, and computational analyses that interface with ongoing biology efforts in the laboratory.

The LSRP1 will work directly with the principal investigator and other members of the lab in a collaborative environment, bringing excellent organizational and communication skills.
