Position Function:
The Assistant Director of Business Operations is responsible for managing travel logistics, financial transaction processing, and reconciliation for the Department of Athletics. This role supports the Athletic Business Office (ABO) by ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of travel, procurement card transactions, and direct pay requests. The position works closely with internal staff, Anthony Travel, and the campus travel office while also providing broad financial processing support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Process and reconcile departmental travel transactions, including booking, claims auditing, and reimbursements.
- Manage travel approval process
- Process Travel Expense Reports
- Manage the Team Travel Roster Reconciliation process to ensure compliance with department policy.
- Maintain "travel tracker" process to track spend by trip for each sport.
- Serve as liaison with the campus travel office and Anthony Travel (on-site travel agency).
- Ensure that travel and financial transactions comply with university, state, and NCAA regulations, maintaining proper documentation and audit trails.
- Assist with management of Bully Buy, Pro Card, and Direct Pay processing and reconciliation.
- Assist with cash deposits
- Cash Receipt Vouchers
- Assist with deposits
- Assist with Asset Tag reconciliation and inventory.
- Assist in financial system improvements and workflow efficiencies related to travel and procurement.
- Assist in reconciling financial records, ensuring alignment with university accounting records.
- Assist in preparing monthly and annual accounting reports, including statements and summaries related to travel and procurement transactions.
- Participate in year-end closeout procedures, providing support for travel-related financial entries.
- Maintain financial records and support documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervisory Responsibility:
May include supervising student workers and interns.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, Sports Management or other business related field with one (1) year of experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Public Administration, or Sports Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Three or more years of related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to explain, advocate, and express facts and ideas in a convincing manner.
- Proven ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both orally and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of constituents.
- Strong critical-thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare financial reports
- Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures
- Knowledge of university accounting procedures involving procurement, travel and/or employment.
- Ability to perform accounting procedures.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.
- Account reconciliation skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
