The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for fostering a supportive environment that enhances the overall student experience for veterinary students. This position plays a critical role in providing guidance and resources to help students navigate the challenges of veterinary school. The Student Success Coordinator focuses on personal development, well-being, and engagement, ensuring students thrive both inside and outside the classroom. The role involves developing and managing student programs, supporting student organizations, and connecting students with resources that enhance their personal and professional growth.
Office of Admissions and Student Success
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., higher education, student affairs, animal science, biology) and at least 2-4 years of experience directly related to student affairs, student success, financial aid or a similar student-facing role in higher education setting.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related field (e.g., higher education, student affairs, veterinary medicine).
- Experience in veterinary education or within a professional or graduate-level program.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical education and unique challenges faced by veterinary students.
- Familiarity with student success metrics and using data to support decision-making in student retention and success strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently while collaborating with others.
- Demonstrated experience in student engagement, retention, and academic support programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage student records and academic data effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems; experience with specialized software for tracking student success preferred.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
