Position Function:

The Assistant Teaching Professor is a full-time non-tenure track level and expectation is to teach undergraduate courses and potentially graduate courses if qualified. Participate in service activities and perform research or professional work sufficient to fulfill accreditation requirements.

Salary Grade: UC

Department Profile:

The Department of Marketing, Quantitative Analysis and Supply Chain Logistics comprises a collegial group of faculty that deliver outstanding undergraduate programs in marketing and supply chain logistics, while providing service courses in business quantitative analysis and business law for business-related majors. At the graduate level, the department offers a Ph.D. Program in marketing and delivers doctoral-level courses to support the college's doctoral programs and delivers masters-level courses to support the college's on-campus and distance MBA programs and distance MBA programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. High commitment to quality teaching;

2. Service involvement in the College of Business, University, Profession, and Community;

3. Counsel students on career direction;

4. Perform sufficient research activities to fulfill college and accreditation needs;

5. Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

A successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Logistics or a terminal degree in a discipline appropriate for the position, possesses the potential for successful performance in the instructional activities in a university environment, and contribute to the service and/or other scholarly activities of the unit, university, and/or profession. ABD candidate will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five or more years of college-level teaching experience in Supply Chain Logistics or related fields

Significant professional experience in supply chain management, operations, procurement, logistics, or project management

Experience of developing industry partnerships or experiential learning opportunities

Evidence of excellent teaching skills

Evidence of service contributions to academic or professional communities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Commitment to high quality teaching and research;

2. Strong communication skills including writing and public speaking;

3. Ability to work effectively with students in a classroom environment (face-to-face and virtual);

4. Willingness to supervise graduate students research projects and/or dissertations;

5. Willingness to serve on the department, college, and university committees;

6. Intra-personal skills necessary to work effectively with students and colleagues in a multidisciplinary department.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Classroom settings range from 30-500 student sections. Maintain appropriate office hours for student conferences. Participate in discipline related conferences, as needed. Engage in departmental, college, and university service functions.
