Assistant Professor in Criminology

Assistant Professor in Criminology, using either qualitative or quantitative methods. All areas of research and teaching expertise will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Statistics or Theory.

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

The Department has 22 faculty members, more than 400 undergraduate majors and 40 sociology graduate students. Programs offered include bachelor's degrees in Applied Sociology, Criminology, Social Work, and Sociology. The Department also houses a master's and PhD program in Sociology. The Department has strong ties to the African American Studies Program, Gender Studies Program, the Social Science Research Center, the National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center, and the Southern Rural Development Center.

Tenure Track

The position requires active participation in research, on campus undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service responsibilities within the department.

Completion of the Ph.D. in Sociology, or related discipline by time of hire is required.

Candidates should be dynamic educators and active researchers with teaching experience preferred. Candidates should have an interest in and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate statistics courses.
