AI Systems Architect

Mississippi State University is hiring an AI Systems Architect to oversee administration and operational support of the university's enterprise AI platforms, including Microsoft AI services. The role manages licensing, provisioning, governance, and cost across AI platforms and cloud services, collaborating with internal teams to support academic, research, and administrative needs under institutional governance.

• Administer Microsoft AI services and enterprise AI tools including Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.
• Manage licensing, provisioning, governance, and cost tracking for Microsoft AI, AWS, and other cloud-based AI platforms.
• Collaborate with ITS Information Security and AI governance teams to ensure compliance and data protection.
• Provide support for cloud service provider environments to maintain enterprise platform continuity.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or related fields with 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Preferred experience with major LLM APIs, Microsoft AI services, Copilot Studio, Anthropic Console, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency in Python and associated technologies such as JavaScript/Type Script, SQL, and REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of higher education environments, AI governance, security, and data classification.
• Salary Grade: 17 with salary ranges determined by department or linked to staff compensation structures.
• Supports academic, research, and administrative users at Mississippi State University within a professional full-time role under Academic Affairs.
