Position Specification
Administrative Assistant – Intermediate Support in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Eberly College of Science. This role provides detailed‑oriented and organized administrative and professional support, performing complex tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the planning and facilitation of support activities for an office or work unit.
- Respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning unit and university policies, processes, and procedures from internal and external contacts.
- Create and maintain files, databases, and reports.
- Monitor and maintain budgets; track expenditures for seven research faculty members and their lab personnel and graduate students, including:
- Knowledge of Simba, PSUBuy, and SAP Concur Penn State systems.
- Tasks such as purchasing card reconciliation, purchase orders, and other financial‑related assignments.
- Generate, prepare, and maintain reports and spreadsheets, and authorize processing of payments.
- Compile and organize information to develop agendas, meeting materials, and reports.
- Arrange meetings; lead coordination and planning of special events, conferences, and other functions.
- Support the planning and coordination of moderately complex projects.
- Serve on various committees; prepare agendas, take and compose minutes.
- Develop website content and maintain web pages.
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. No required certifications.

Salary & BenefitsSalary range: $38,300.00 – $55,500.00.
