Overview
The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Department of Human Services' Centre County Assistance Office supports a busy office by keeping information organized and accurate. Your work helps clients receive services efficiently and ensures the office runs smoothly.
Salary: $18.83 - $27.69 per hour.
Full‑time seasonal, 37.5 hours per week
. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 1‑hour lunch. The position typically runs 6–8 months during the fall and winter seasons.
Location:
Centre County, PA – Office of Income Maintenance, Centre County Assistance Office, 2580 Park Center Blvd, State College, PA 16801.
- Scanning and imaging: scan documents and maintain accurate electronic images.
- Data entry: enter information into automated systems with accuracy.
- Inquiry support: access automated systems to obtain needed information.
- Record filing: organize, file, and purge records according to required schedules.
- Visitor reception: greet visitors, record information, and direct them appropriately.
- Information distribution: review, sort, and distribute materials to the correct staff.
- Controlled office environment; possible reassignment to other work sites in counties with District Offices.
- May be eligible for part‑time telework. Telework requires a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved Pennsylvania location.
- Salary for new hires in the Commonwealth: $36,108 annual before taxes.
- Minimum six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth or equivalent federal title) or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- High school graduation.
- PA residency requirement must be met. Candidates who live within Centre County receive hiring preference; other counties may be considered if no eligible Centre County applicants apply.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offer requires submission of criminal history reports and a background investigation.
