Position Overview
Penn State Auxiliary & Business Services is hiring a full‑time, on‑campus Pre‑Mail Variable Data & Print Specialist for its Multimedia and Print Center (MPC). The role focuses on preparing and managing mailing data to meet U.S. Postal Service automation requirements, including address list processing, NCOA updates, data formatting, variable data printing, and producing USPS documentation. The position also involves operating print/mail equipment, preparing print‑ready files, and providing backup support across Pre‑Mail functions.
The specialist works closely with customer service, design, print, and mailing teams, contributes to process improvement, and supports MPC’s mission of high‑quality, efficient print and mail services. The role emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, workplace safety, and a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Prepare and manage mailing data to meet U.S. Postal Service automation requirements, including address list processing, NCOA updates, and data formatting.
- Conduct variable data printing and produce USPS documentation.
- Operate print and mail equipment and prepare print‑ready files.
- Provide backup support across Pre‑Mail functions.
- Collaborate with customer service, design, print, and mailing teams and contribute to process improvement.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, and basic math ability.
- Knowledge of postal regulations and experience with variable data and design software such as Fusion Pro, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat (preferred).
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS). 2+ years of relevant experience. Required certifications:

The salary range for this position is $40,608.00 – $58,836.00.
