Job Summary

HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an experienced and energetic Construction Foreman in Central PA. The Construction Foreman position is within our Highway Region, where we are a leader in road construction in addition to municipal pipe projects. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in fast‑paced environments.

Must have the ability to work with and communicate with cross‑functional teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise work activities of construction crew members in their day to day activities
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure crews have tools, materials, and instruction to complete tasks
  • Preplan schedule, manpower, and equipment needs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with the Project Management Team
  • Coordinate material and labor needs with Project Superintendent
  • Report quantities to management staff
  • Understand and meet production rates to meet schedule and budget requirements
  • Understand and utilize the Contract Drawings and Specifications
  • Ordering proper materials and equipment for daily job requirements
  • Ensuring team meets daily and weekly performance goals
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of at least 5 years in the construction industry
Skills
  • Must comply with all DOT regulations
  • Applicants must be able to work varying shifts and long hours dependent on market demands
  • Must comply with the company as drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Proven track record working safely
  • Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
  • Travel as required
  • Preferred Certifications & Training
    • First Aid / CPR
    • OSHA 10 and/or 30 hour training
  • Layout ability with the use of auto levels, lasers, and other survey equipment
  • Knowledge of construction planning and scheduling
  • Ability to calculate quantities for materials and supplies
Physical Requirements
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise
  • Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
  • Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
