The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with strong earthwork and civil experience who takes ownership of safety, quality, and crew performance while delivering work to the highest standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Complete and direct daily earthwork operations such as excavation, grading, backfill, compaction, and others.

* Supervise and coordinate earthwork and commercial construction activities.

* Verify grades, elevations, and layout before and during work.

* Perform material take-offs and assist with production planning.

* Coordinate crews, equipment, and materials to maintain workflow.

* Order equipment and materials as needed.

* Assist with scheduling and provide progress reporting.

* Track time, equipment usage, and production quantities.

* Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans and specifications.

* Travel to local and out-of-town projects as needed.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Minimum of 5 years of earthwork and commercial construction experience

* Current OSHA 30-hour certification

* Can safely lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stairs, and climb out of ditches

* Must wear proper protective equipment at all times

Knowledge and Skills

* Strong organizational and communication skills

* Ability to read grading plans, blueprints, and specifications

* Experience with grade checking using GPS, lasers, and cut sheets

* Working knowledge of hand tools and equipment used in commercial construction

* Understanding of production rates and quantity tracking

* Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency and quality
