Qualifications NeededQualifications:
- Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate
- Must obtain and maintain Parents as Teachers (PAT) Certification.
- Complete and maintain Pediatric First Aid and CPR (provided after hire).
- Must complete Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) (provided after hire) if candidate does not possess post‑high school training in Early Childhood Education.
- Must be able to travel and attend additional training as required.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills
- Reliable transportation and flexible schedule (some evenings/weekends)
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs, sit/stand for extended periods, bend/kneel, and visit homes
High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervised work experience with young children and or parents. Preferred Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.

ResponsibilitiesAbout the Role:
As a Parent Educator, you will provide in‑home and group‑based educational services to families, following the Parents as Teachers model. You’ll support parents with practical tools, developmental guidance, and access to community resources, helping them give their children the best start in life.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide coverage across the Matternville/State College area (travel required; mileage/time reimbursed per policy)
- Work 37.5 hours per week, 44 weeks per year
- Provide regular home visits and group sessions
- Support parents with child development and parenting guidance
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and maintain records
- Connect families with community resources
- Collaborate with team members and community partners
- Recruit families and participate in outreach activities
- Attend training and stay current with curriculum
