Position: Associate Professor – Nursing Dept.

Grant funded through September 30, 2028 (position is contingent upon renewed grant funding by the terms outlined by contract through September 30, 2031).

Associate Professor - salary range $58,936.23 - $69,066.51.

CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.

SCOPE OF WORK

To educate students in nursing (or LPN) as outlined in a prescribed program curriculum and to coordinate departmental initiatives and/or institutional activities that advance the mission of the college in support of the Rural Health Transformation Grant (RHT). This position is located at the Lebanon Campus but may also require travel to the Claremont campus. This position reports to the Department Chair of Nursing at River Valley Community College.

Accountabilities
  • Assists Department Chair as needed to address and resolve any grant-related issues, communicating when required to the CCSNH Director of Workforce Development and the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Grant Manager.
  • Supports Department Chair and participates as needed in statewide, regional, and Federal RHT related conferences, seminars, or meetings to ensure programmatic efforts are aligned with best practices and evidence-based models for RHT.
  • Teaches an assigned academic course schedule in a classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic/field experience setting as appropriate for the RN nursing program.
  • Demonstrates teaching effectiveness through the development of instructional materials that comply with established course content, integrate theory with applications, clearly define course goals, observe program and institutional accreditation standards, promote critical thinking and life skills, and respond to diverse academic needs.
  • Maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs and advises individuals or groups of students in academic matters relevant to the academic area of specialization. Exercises professional judgment in referring students to appropriate personnel.
  • Supervises student learning activities and academic progress; maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments. Consults with and interprets these to students and maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs.
  • Collaborates with other faculty in the department to develop credit and non-credit programs and/or courses, sharing teaching and learning methodologies with peers, serving as an academic resource in area of expertise.
  • Maintains educational equipment and spaces, and requisition instructional resources, equipment, supplies or classroom materials.
  • Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of college-sponsored recruitment and retention activities including job fairs, student orientations and award ceremonies.
  • Engages in professional activities related to the area of teaching specialization that partner the college with the wider community by serving on college or system teams, or participating in community-sponsored events, as assigned.
  • Utilizes appropriate instructional and administrative technologies as required for teaching effectiveness and college operations/communications.
  • Remains technologically and pedagogically current within the field of Nursing through participation in relevant professional associations and educational and training activities.
  • Observes all academic policies and procedures and institutional rules and regulations and demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.
  • Serves on college or system teams, or participates in community-sponsored events, as assigned. Attend nursing faculty meetings in Claremont and/or in Keene.
  • Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
