Penn State is seeking a frontline fundraiser in the role of Assistant/Associate Director of Development to engage alumni and friends as partners in supporting The Smeal College of Business. The role reports to the Senior Director of Development and Alumni Relations and works closely with college leadership and other partners.
The responsibilities include:
- Identify and cultivate a prospect pool of graduates and other key constituencies;
- Articulate Penn State's needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications, including written proposals;
- Plan and execute solicitation strategies leading to major gifts;
- Travel extensively throughout the region and across the country to pursue these strategies and build enduring relationships, tracked to a fixed and appropriately aggressive set of fundraising metrics.
The successful candidate will have:
- A track record of success in securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals;
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills required to build relationships with sophisticated and high-net worth audiences;
- The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues;

Minimum Education , Work Experience & Required Certifications- For Major Gift Officer – Intermediate Professional:
Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. - For Major Gift Officer – Professional:
Bachelor's Degree. No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
This position is based at the University Park campus, located in State College, Pennsylvania.
Employment with the university will require successful completion of background checks in accordance with university policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa.

Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 – $.
