We are currently seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as the Assistant Head of School (AHOS) for Grades 5-8 to support our middle school program and contribute to the school's academic, cultural, and operational success. Position OverviewThe Assistant Head of School, Grades 5-8 will serve as an integral part of our leadership team, working closely with the Head of School, Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Instruction, and other administrators. This position will be responsible for guiding the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development of students in Grades 5-8, as well as supporting faculty and staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.

- Academic Vision
:
Partner with the AHOS C&I to implement the school's academic goals and vision. - Curriculum & Instruction
:
Support the implementation of effective instructional practices for Grades 5-8 through classroom observations and feedback. - Data-Driven Improvement

Lead academic data analysis to ensure instruction is rigorous, equitable, and standards-based. - Professional Development
:
Collaborate with AHOS C&I to facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for teacher development.
- Program Management
:
Oversee the PAW program, Honor Roll, and extracurricular activities. - Grade Transitions
:
Manage the grade 5-9 transition process to support student progression. - Student Well-Being
:
Promote social-emotional learning, student safety, and crisis response initiatives.
- Anti-Bullying
:
Serve as the anti-bullying coordinator, promoting a respectful school culture. - Behavior Systems
:
Oversee discipline and restorative practices, ensuring fair and supportive behavior systems. - Staff Development
:
Lead professional development on restorative practices and support attendance monitoring. - Family Engagement
:
Act as the primary contact for Grades 5-8 families, ensuring open communication and addressing concerns. - Team Leadership
:
Supervise and mentor Grades 5-8 staff, fostering a positive and collaborative culture. - Staff Recruitment & Evaluation
:
Support recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of teaching staff in collaboration with the Head of School. - Professional Culture
:
Foster staff morale and well-being through support, growth initiatives, and professional development.
- Safety & Supervision
:
Coordinate lunch, recess, and hallway duties, and serve as the School Safety Specialist overseeing emergency drills and procedures. - Policy & Compliance
:
Ensure compliance with school policies, district, state, and federal regulations, including testing and reporting. - Long-Term Goals
