The Applied Signals & System Integration Department of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking undergraduates to assist ARL engineers in the areas of signal processing, data analysis, and test & evaluation.
ARL is an authorized DoD Skill Bridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Typical duties may include:
- Support for modeling, fabrication, and documentation
- Support for testing, data analysis, and data display
- Contribute to the research and development of unique algorithmic solutions for a wide array of sponsor requirements, with a focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Assist with the design, assembly, and testing of prototype hardware
Preferred
Skills:
- Mechanically inclined or the ability to learn and be comfortable trying new things
- Knowledge of MATLAB or Python
- Ability to take data in an organized fashion and write a report about their results
Students in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustics, or Engineering Science & Mechanics are encouraged to apply.
Multiple opportunities exist for undergraduate students to support this effort. The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer.
This is a paid internship located several miles off campus; relocation and housing are not provided.
ARL’s purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).
