Position Overview
This company is seeking a Documentation Control Engineer / CAD Drafter to support a high-profile company rebranding initiative. This role will focus on engineering documentation updates, drafting revisions, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and document control activities to ensure engineering drawings and technical documentation accurately reflect new branding requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing environment with controlled documentation, engineering change management, and Solid Works/AutoCAD drafting. This position works closely with Production Engineering and cross-functional teams to update drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and controlled engineering documents while ensuring compliance with established documentation control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the company's product rebranding initiative by updating engineering documentation and drawings.
- Create, review, and release controlled engineering documentation in accordance with document control procedures.
- Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and engineering documentation updates.
- Translate red-lined engineering drawings into finalized controlled documentation.
- Utilize Solid Works and AutoCAD to create and revise mechanical and electro-mechanical drawings.
- Partner with Production Engineering to implement engineering changes and documentation updates.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, specifications, and configuration management documentation.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal quality and document control standards.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to support project deliverables.
- Manage multiple documentation priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with controlled documentation is preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of documentation change management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting engineering documentation, ECNs, or document control processes.
- Experience creating or revising mechanical drawings using CAD software.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Experience creating and modifying models, assemblies, and part configurations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems such as Visual Manufacturing or similar.
- Experience with PLM systems such as Omnify or Agile.
- Experience using EPDM or similar engineering document management software.
- Working knowledge of:
- Documentation control procedures
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Configuration management
- Mechanical drawings and specifications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk throughout an 8-hour workday.
