Role Description

This full-time, on‑site Event Manager role is based in State College, PA in conjunction with Penn State University. The Event Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the Centre Film Festival, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for attendees. Key responsibilities include managing event logistics, coordinating with vendors and partners, organizing schedules, supervising event staff, and overseeing budgets. This role will also involve collaborating with filmmakers, artists, and the community to deliver a successful festival experience.

The Centre Film Festival is a dynamic, week‑long event celebrating film and fostering meaningful conversations through media arts, workshops, and masterclasses. Hosted at the historic Rowland Theatre and State Theatre, the festival bridges local and global voices, bringing multigenerational stories to life. It also empowers local teens through masterclasses with artists, encouraging them to develop their creative visions. Dedicated to showcasing the region's talent and rich storytelling potential, the festival is a hub of inspiration and creative exchange in Central Pennsylvania.

Reduced FTE:
This position will be filled at 75% FTE, with work performed from April to December, and January to March being months off.

This position is funded for 9 months; continuation past 9 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

This position is funded through December 2026 with the possibility for renewal.
