Our client, a well-established company in downtown State College, is seeking a Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This full-time, in-office role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a collaborative management team.
Schedule: Full-time (Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Pay: $80,000+/year (based on experience)
* This is a direct hire position with benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple real estate and affiliated business entities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including cash books, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and oversee internal financial transfers
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and reimbursements
- Enter journal entries and support month-end financial closing
- Assist with budgeting, month-end closing, and financial reporting
- Prepare profit and loss statements and comparative financial reports
- Coordinate year-end financial documentation for tax preparation
- Support payroll and benefits-related accounting transactions
- Utilize Quick Books, Microsoft Excel and property management software to manage financial data
- Maintain organized and confidential financial documentation
- This position will also support additional accounting and operational tasks as needed to meet business objectives
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting or financial data management experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with or ability to learn Quick Books and property management software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
