Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews every two years
Must-Have:
Graduate of an approved school of Radiation Therapy
Description:
Responsible for the administration of radiation therapy using Varian Linear Accelerator (True Beam).
Documentation in Meditech and Aria.
Checks diagnosis, prescription, chart, and patient identification.
Explains planned treatment to the patient, including means of communication during treatment and procedure to follow if problems arise during treatment.
Prepares room and equipment according to prescription, including immobilization devices, field size, and treatment distance.
Observes radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.
Maintains visual and audible communication with the patient during treatment.
Operates and performs CT simulation procedures and equipment effectively.
Performs daily duties in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs patient timeout per department policy.
Observes treatment area for skin changes and discusses any unusual side effects or emotional problems with the patient.
Notifies the physician in charge of any issues.
Assists as necessary with ordering supplies.
Maintains complete records as required.
Complies with and performs Quality Improvement.
Complies with all policies and procedures.
Maintains patient markings.
Performs scheduling and other clerical duties to maintain efficiency throughout the department.
Performs safety checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and reports problems to the physician in charge and supervisor.
