Sigma Inc. is looking for a Registrar Scheduler to work onsite with our Client in State College, PA

Shift

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Job Summary
  • Seeking a Registrar Scheduler – Orthopedics to support patient scheduling and registration functions within the orthopedic department. This role is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, ensuring accurate patient information entry, and providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for orthopedic services.
  • Register patients in the system and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment inquiries.
  • Provide customer service to patients, physicians, and clinical staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update scheduling systems as needed.
  • Communicate appointment details, instructions, and preparation requirements to patients.
  • Support front-office clerical tasks as required.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and patient confidentiality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Office Professional program or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience preferably in medical practice or clinical setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of physician office procedures and medical terminology
    .
  • Ability to clearly communicate and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience using office equipment (copiers, fax machines, phones, computers).
  • Ability to accurately record patient data and messages.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to sort and file documents using alphabetical and numerical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in patient scheduling, registration, or medical office administration
    .
  • Experience working in a healthcare or orthopedic practice setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
