Woskob Gallery Program

Position Summary

The Woskob Family Gallery at Penn State's College of Arts and Architecture is hiring Gallery Assistants for the academic year. The role involves hands‑on gallery operations including exhibition installation and de‑installation, staffing during open hours to greet visitors and provide information, supporting events and public programs, handling basic administrative tasks, and managing social media accounts with content creation and community engagement.

Approval of remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed regardless of work location.

• Install and de‑install exhibitions.
• Staff the gallery during open hours to welcome visitors and provide information.
• Support events and public programs.
• Handle basic administrative tasks.
• Manage social media accounts with content creation and community engagement.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in contemporary art and gallery practices.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility for variable scheduling that includes evenings and weekends for openings and special events.
• Previous experience with exhibition installation is a significant advantage.

Starting rate is $20 per hour.

Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
