SUMMARY:

At Fisher Auto Parts, the Store Manager is the senior leader in the store. The Store Manager must be knowledgeable in all facets of store operations and be committed to inspiring associates to succeed while delivering the highest level of customer service in their market. The Store Manager drives profitable business growth with integrity, aligns daily actions with Fisher’s core values, and adheres to company objectives, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The Store Manager is responsible for all facets of the store’s operation, including:

  • Effectively managing day-to-day business to realize company objectives and uphold core values;
  • Ensuring sales and expense priorities meet or exceed budgeted financial goals, including accounts receivable objectives;
  • Maintaining an atmosphere of safety and respect for associates and customers at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, Duties and Abilities
  • Responsible for consistently growing the business by exceeding all sales, payroll and profit goals with a focus on accounts receivable and credit/collection objectives;
  • Monitor and manage authorized inventory to maximize profitability and product availability;
  • Provide input into effective pricing strategies within competitive markets;
  • Maintain safety and security standards throughout the store;
  • Maintain the highest standards of customer service, including prompt handling of customer and associate complaints/concerns;
  • Maintain store appearance and merchandising to company standards;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced wholesale/retail environment;
  • Make sound, well-reasoned business decisions;
  • Communicate effectively with peers, direct reports and corporate management, both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work within a diverse population;
  • Contribute to selection, hiring, training, development and retention of associates;
  • Lead and manage high-performing store and outside sales associates;
  • Direct, coordinate and set an example for associate performance;
  • Hold associates accountable for outcomes and results;
  • Optimize use of resources in a cost-effective manner;
  • Build strong relationships with associates, customers, and support staff;
  • Manage labor hours and payroll costs effectively;

  • Plan, schedule, delegate responsibility, and follow up on duties while holding associates accountable for results;
  • Manage inventory levels for profitability and customer needs while controlling losses;
  • Understand store operations including inventory management, stocking, warehousing, parts distribution, and delivery systems;
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills;
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and create positive customer experiences;
  • Build customer loyalty;
  • Utilize marketing, training and customer technology tools to increase sales and market share;
  • Familiarity with computerized systems including electronic parts catalog, inventory control, time calculation, cash, invoicing and credit systems;
  • Write effective work schedules to ensure store coverage and high levels of service;
  • Monitor store activity and outside sales/delivery programs to ensure safe, productive results and achievement of key objectives, including reducing at-fault accidents;
  • Manage time effectively;
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED;
    Bachelor’s degree in business or related area preferred;
  • 2–3 years of prior experience managing others in a wholesale/retail environment;
  • Valid driver’s license required; MVR check submitted prior to hire and maintained;
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test;
  • A.S.E. Certification preferred but not required at time of hire;
  • Acknowledgement of and adherence to all company policies and procedures as provided in Employee and Driver Handbooks at time of hire.
