Harris is looking for an Assembler to join our team. This person will contribute to the company’s success by performing a wide variety of mechanical or electro‑mechanical assembly operations on mechanical/electrical assemblies, sub‑assemblies, or end products.
- Performs a variety of mechanical or electro‑mechanical assembly operations on mechanical/electrical assemblies, sub‑assemblies, or end products
- Able to follow verbal and written instruction maintaining a focus on quality
- Follows an engineering assembly process, but may require the ability to adjust, fit, or align parts
- Uses hand tools such as long nose pliers, screwdrivers, soldering irons, and wrenches
- Maintains consistent quality and productivity levels
- Uses Microsoft Office programs
- Maintains neat and clean work area
- Identifies problems and contributes to process improvements
- Performs some hand soldering on electronic assemblies
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast‑paced, flexible production state‑of‑the‑art environment
- Works as part of a team and collaborates to accomplish tasks
- Traverses across the production floor for the duration of their shift
- Able to transport up to 30 lbs
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance which requires US citizenship
- Able to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and Bills of Material
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Electrical background at the component level.
- Capable of identifying problems and contributing to process improvements through the L3
Harris E3 continuous improvement process. - J‑STD‑001, IPC‑610.
- Mechanical or electrical assembly experience to include soldering.
