Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and direction for manufacturing operations at our State College, PA facility. This role is responsible for coordinating production activities, assigning resources, and leading production employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Working closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other functional teams, the Production Supervisor ensures production schedules are effectively executed while maintaining compliance with established manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and customer commitments.
This position also plays an important role in employee development, continuous improvement, and creating a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing manufacturing environment.
- Lead, coordinate, and prioritize daily production activities and employee assignments based on production schedules, equipment capacity, material availability, staffing, and customer requirements.
- Monitor production performance and adjust staffing, priorities, and schedules as needed to support safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
- Ensure employees follow established work instructions, manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance support as needed to minimize downtime and maintain production capability.
- Track production progress and communicate schedule status, constraints, risks, and product completion information to Operations leadership and appropriate cross‑functional partners.
- Partner with Quality and Process Engineering to evaluate production issues, lot failures, nonconforming material, and customer returns and support effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Review manufacturing processes and recommend improvements that increase productivity, improve quality, reduce waste, and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Verify product conformance to applicable specifications and ensure appropriate machine setup, adjustment, and manufacturing controls are followed.
- Support the implementation and effective use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other process‑monitoring methods in collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and production personnel.
- Participate in annual manufacturing planning activities and support initiatives related to capacity, productivity, cost savings, quality improvement, and new or existing product releases.
- Ensure engineering‑developed processes and manufacturing methods are properly executed and that required documentation and process qualifications are complete prior to release to production.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, training, and ongoing development for assigned production employees.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide timely feedback to reinforce accountability, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and progress assessments in accordance with company practices.
- Monitor attendance and timekeeping and address issues consistently and in accordance with company policies.
- Partner with Human Resources to appropriately address employee relations, performance, attendance, and workplace concerns.
- Provide input and recommendations regarding hiring, onboarding, training, development, recognition, promotion, performance management, and other employment actions.
- Build employee capability through effective training, cross‑training, coaching, and development to support operational flexibility and manufacturing requirements.

- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
