JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill several part‑time Programming and Outreach undergraduate student staff positions for the academic year .

These roles provide an opportunity for students to develop and demonstrate competencies including communication, teamwork, leadership, advocacy, professionalism, career development, critical thinking, and personal growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of signature events and programs, contributing to inclusive and educational experiences for the campus community.
  • Creation of one collaborative Late Night in the Center program per semester.
  • Collaborate with peers and administrative staff to support outreach initiatives that increase awareness, engagement, and participation in Center programs.
  • Represent the Center by staffing information tables during campus‑wide outreach events and programs.
  • Assist in the organization and staffing of the Clothing Transit, pantry, and program materials, demonstrating reliability and accountability.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide front‑facing office support, including answering phone calls and greeting visitors in a positive, inclusive, and professional manner.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities while demonstrating strong time management, adaptability, and initiative in a dynamic work environment.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to continuous improvement of programs and services.
  • Assist with the organization, cleanliness, and management of the Center's spaces.
  • Support and provide staffing for larger, signature events sponsored by the Center.
  • Take initiative on projects and complete other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and accountability.

These positions are part‑time and do not include benefits. Interested students must submit a resume and cover letter as part of a complete application.
