Job Summary

Our hospitals have set the national standard for care coordination among hospital leadership, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, heart failure, advanced practice, nursing, life support, emergency medicine, emergency medical services (EMS), care management, pharmacy, and cardiac rehab teams.

Schedule

and Hours

Full‑time, 40 hours weekly;
Monday‑Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. A minimum of 2 years RN work experience is required. CCU or telemetry experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Performs daily registered nurse functions in the Echo Lab Department.
  • Participates in a variety of nursing activities necessary to the acquisition of echo cardiographic examinations, stress testing, and advanced imaging examinations.
  • Assesses patient responses to medications and testing per protocols and documents information in the medical record.
  • Assures all necessary paperwork and information is present for procedures.
  • Prepares patients for procedures.
  • Reviews history of allergies, medication list, etc.
  • Assesses patients’ physical status as well as their understanding of the procedure.
  • Provides patient and family education about the procedure.
  • Ensures that patients have followed proper pre‑test instructions.
  • Assesses patients per Joint Commission safety goals and follows up accordingly.
  • Applies monitoring equipment, monitors vital signs, performs emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Transports equipment to patients’ bedside when necessary.
  • Starts and regulates oxygen, monitors conscious sedation patients until transferred.
  • Assists with orientation of personnel and students.
  • Assists in approved research activities as needed.
Education and Experience

Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required).

Minimum of 2 years in nursing (Required).

Certifications and Licensure
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) –  of Pennsylvania.
  • Moderate Sedation Certification within 1 year (Required).
