Responsible to Unit Director for overall nursing practice. Includes the responsibility for assessment of childbearing women (adolescence to middle adulthood), neonates, and family needs, the development of a plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing interventions, and evaluation of nursing care based on outcomes for the population served.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Effectively functions as a team member and as a liaison between patient and staff.
- Supports and encourages harmonious communication skills.
- Job requires strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Communicates in highly professional manner at all times.
- Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times.
- License/Certification/Registration:
- Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
- Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
- Holds the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and renews NRP every two years.
- Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and renews ACLS every two years.
- MUST HAVE EPIC EXPERIENCE
Receives minimal supervision from the Director, Women & Children’s Services.
Essential Functions- Assessing patient and family's developmental level, health status, and health history including sexual and reproductive history and identified learning needs.
- Performing initial assessment and stabilization of the neonate.
- Developing a plan of care based on identified physical and learning needs.
- Teaching self-care and/or the care of the newborn to patients and families.
- Considering data relating to role relationships and interaction patterns of families when developing a plan of care.
- Promoting understanding of influence of family relationships on health status.
- Providing support and collaborating with other health care disciplines in the treatment and referrals of families at risk.
- Facilitating interaction between family members to promote bonding process.
- Maintaining an awareness of professional issues.
- Updating knowledge and clinical skills on an ongoing basis.
Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
PayPay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
