RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Infection Control
About the Role:As an RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Infection Control, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our nursing team, while also overseeing the infection control program at our facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents.
Responsibilities:- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, and reports
- Assist DON with administrative duties and serve as backup when the DON is not in the building
- Provide personnel with training and information governing established policies and procedures concerning exposure or blood/body fluids with the direction of the Infection Control nurse
- Serve on various committees of the facility as directed
- Assist the staff in understanding their duties and improving every facet of their performance
- Meet with personnel, as appropriate, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services
- Promote the morale of all personnel and maintain a spirit of cooperation
- Communicate the program in such a way to encourage staff participation and involvement
- Attend outside training programs and activities that will add to your professional growth
- Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Administrator or Director of Nursing
- Initiate infection control measure as required and directed, with knowledge of State and Federal regulations, ensuring facility compliance
- Educate and manage personnel as it relates to infection control
- Oversee resident care as it relates to infection control and work with other departments to meet this goal
- Lead the Infection Control Committee and conduct routine meetings
- Conduct rounds on the nursing units to monitor compliance with infection control policies and procedures
- Identify infection control problems and recommend corrective action
- Collect and report data related to infections
- 1+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Must know Long Term Care
