What Will I Be Doing?
As a Laboratory Technician in the State College, PA office, you will play an integral role in the success of our organization. You will work independently and in collaboration with our knowledgeable, dynamic staff on a wide variety of land development and construction projects. The key responsibilities include:
- Processing concrete test cylinders (stripping, logging, and curing).
- Performing compressive strength testing of concrete test cylinders.
- Performing soils lab tests including Proctors, Atterberg limits, and sieve analysis.
- Calibrating field testing equipment.
- Maintaining field equipment inventory.
- Reporting laboratory testing results to the project team verbally or in writing.
- Interacting with senior staff members, including the lab manager on a variety of projects as needed.
- Supporting a clean, safe, and efficient laboratory environment.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent (enrollment in college or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geology is a plus).
- Valid certifications (ACI, ICC, NICET, etc.) are a plus and lead to higher starting pay.
- Ability to meet pre‑employment criteria, including a motor vehicle record.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 60–80 pounds.
- Up to $500 signing bonus.
