JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for a Research Technologist position in the laboratory of Prof. Song Tan in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Express proteins and protein complexes in
E. coli. - Purify proteins, protein complexes, and protein/DNA complexes using low pressure and high-performance chromatography.
- Analyze proteins and protein/DNA complexes by electrophoresis, spectroscopy, immunoassays, and enzyme activity assays.
- Maintain written and electronic laboratory records.
- Assist with ordering laboratory supplies.
- Maintain laboratory equipment.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in biological science, chemistry, or physics.
This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of renewal.
Salary Range: $34,800.00 - $50,500.00
