Research Assistant/Associate
Graduate Research Assistant
The College of Liberal Arts seeks a part-time hourly graduate research assistant to support projects related to how parents and siblings guide and influence adolescents' digital use in the household. The position is for approximately 5-10 hours a week during the Fall 2026 semester with payment at $20.00 per hour.
Duties include:
- Assist with recruiting parent-adolescent dyads in State College area and online across the nation
- Schedule interviews with eligible families
- Conduct in-person or online interviews with one parent and one adolescent from each family
- Assist with providing participant compensation after interview completion
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD degree program at Penn State
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills
- Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently, as well as ability to work collaboratively on a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in digital media use, family influence, and adolescent health
