Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician
This is a true “Learn & Earn” position – the perfect entry point into the growing fire protection industry. You will work side-by-side with experienced Fire Extinguisher, Fire Alarm, and Fire Sprinkler technicians while getting paid to learn valuable, in-demand trade skills. No prior fire protection experience is required, but a strong work ethic and desire to build a long-term career are a must.
RequirementsWhat You’ll Do (Daily Responsibilities)
Assist senior technicians with inspection, testing, service, and installation of:
- Fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable)
- Wet, dry, and special-hazard fire sprinkler systems
- Emergency/exit lighting and suppression systems (clean agent, kitchen hood, etc.)
- Carry tools and equipment, stage materials, and keep job sites clean and organized
- Perform basic tasks under direct supervision (recharging extinguishers, replacing sprinkler heads and alarm devices, pulling wire, mounting equipment, hydrostatic testing, etc.)
- Complete required paperwork and digital reports using mobile apps/tablets
- Maintain company vehicle stock and perform basic vehicle/equipment maintenance
- Deliver outstanding customer service while representing the company professionally
- Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience desired in any of these areas (highly preferred but not required):
- Construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, low-voltage, or mechanical trades
- Military service (especially technical MOS/rates)
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Comfortable working on ladders, in attics, on lifts, and in commercial/industrial environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work in varying weather conditions
