Overview
Senior Java Software Engineer – Satellite Ground Systems Team (Onsite, State College, PA). Requires TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, Linux environment, Agile/Dev Ops.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for satellite ground systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, other software engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.
- Implement and test Java-based applications and components.
- Define software requirements and specifications with cross-functional teams.
- Modify and maintain existing code as needed.
- Ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
- Contribute to program and project milestones under supervisor guidance.
- Follow established software processes, documentation, and maintenance of operational concepts.
- Stay updated with latest advancements in Java and satellite technology to drive innovation.
- Active, transferable TS/SCI clearance with adjudication date less than 3 years from start date.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in object-oriented Java design/development in Linux environment.
- Experience with unit testing (e.g., JUnit).
- Experience in Agile/Dev Ops environment.
- Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, containers, Spring Framework.
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite.
- Experience with satellite communication systems and protocols.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices in defense/aerospace settings.
- Security+ certification.
Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 annually.
