Senior Java Software Engineer; on-site

Overview

Senior Java Software Engineer – Satellite Ground Systems Team (Onsite, State College, PA). Requires TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, Linux environment, Agile/Dev Ops.

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for satellite ground systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, other software engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.
• Implement and test Java-based applications and components.
• Define software requirements and specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Modify and maintain existing code as needed.
• Ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
• Contribute to program and project milestones under supervisor guidance.
• Follow established software processes, documentation, and maintenance of operational concepts.
• Stay updated with latest advancements in Java and satellite technology to drive innovation.

• Active, transferable TS/SCI clearance with adjudication date less than 3 years from start date.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in object-oriented Java design/development in Linux environment.
• Experience with unit testing (e.g., JUnit).
• Experience in Agile/Dev Ops environment.

• Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, containers, Spring Framework.
• Experience with Atlassian tool suite.
• Experience with satellite communication systems and protocols.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices in defense/aerospace settings.
• Security+ certification.

Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 annually.
