Job Overview

Associate Application Developer – Adobe Experience – Co‑op 2026

We are seeking a co‑op student to join our IBM Consulting team in State College, PA, to support Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) initiatives. The role includes design, development, and implementation of AEM‑based digital experience solutions and Adobe Experience Platform data‑driven marketing solutions. Students will work on real client projects and gain exposure to advanced web technologies, cloud services, and enterprise integration.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain AEM Sites, Assets, and Forms using modern AEM architecture and coding standards.
  • Build reusable AEM components, templates, client libraries, and OSGi services using Java, Sling Models, HTL, and JCR APIs.
  • Implement AEM workflows, metadata schemas, and custom servlets to support business automation and content governance.
  • Assist with AEM environment setup (author, publish, dispatcher) and configuration for replication, permissions, and caching.
  • Support AEM Cloud Migration projects and understand AEM as a Cloud Service deployment models.
  • Integrate AEM with external platforms (CRM, analytics, personalization tools) via RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
  • Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high‑quality, scalable code delivery.
  • Participate in code reviews, follow IBM and Adobe best practices, and contribute to documentation and reusable libraries.
  • Collaborate with QA, Dev Ops, and Architects to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Stay updated on Adobe and open‑source trends; continuously improve AEM and full‑stack development capabilities.
  • Gather and analyze client requirements for Adobe Experience Platform modules: data ingestion, schema/data modeling, audience building, and profile management.
  • Support integration between AEP and other systems (CRM, analytics, CMS).
  • Configure activation channels such as Adobe Target, Journey Optimizer, or AEM for personalization, content delivery, and campaign execution.
  • Aid in testing, QA of Adobe components, data integrity, and performance.
  • Assist with data governance, privacy, consent, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Participate in workshops, design sessions, and client meetings; provide progress updates.
  • Contribute to solution documentation: architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a university degree with a proven record of academic success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and build relationships in an agile environment.
  • Initiative, passion for learning, and a growth mindset.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and challenges.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance if required.
  • Availability to work in‑office, on‑site in State College, PA during the academic year.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
  • Ability to travel or relocate during breaks as needed.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in Java, OSGi, Sling, HTL, and JCR APIs; experience developing and deploying AEM components and templates.
  • Experience using Git, Maven, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Experience configuring Adobe modules, basic integration experience; familiarity with content management/delivery is a plus.
Education
  • Required:

    Doctorate Degree.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor's Degree.
Benefits & Working Conditions
  • Co‑op period:
    January 2026 – May 2026; extensions based on performance.
  • Location:

    State College, PA (on‑site).
  • Work hours:

    up to 20 hours per week during academic terms; up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
  • Compensation range: $43,680.00 – $80,080.00 per year (pro‑rated for part‑time). The range is based on a full‑time schedule and adjusted for part‑time hours.
