In the Principal Signals Software Engineering role, you will design, develop, optimize, and test systems using models to satisfy the customer mission for our satellite ground systems team.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate signal processing software with satellite ground systems.
- Develop and implement algorithms for signal processing, including Fourier transforms, digital signal processing, and RF signal processing.
- Analyze and optimize signal processing algorithms for improved performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal processing software.
- Lead one or more software development teams and ensure work is completed in accordance with established software development processes.
- Follow established software processes and procedures, documentation, and maintenance/management of operations concepts and requirements.
- Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Typical requirement: STEM degree and minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience unless otherwise noted.
- Experience as a Signals Software Engineer (SSWE) or equivalent, with a focus on radio frequency (RF) and signal processing, including Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, and signal analysis tools (e.g., Wigner‑Ville transform, DVT).
- Experience with software‑defined radio architectures.
- Programming languages:
Java, C, C++, Python. - Experience with satellite communication systems and ground systems.
- Experience with commercial wireless standards.
- Experience with geolocation techniques.
- Experience with software configuration management.
- Experience with Python and MATLAB.
