Mechanic, Transportation

The State College Area School District has an opening for a Mechanic in the Bus Garage. This is a full-time, twelve-month position, daylight hours with a half-hour unpaid lunch.

This position reports to the Director of Transportation and is responsible for maintaining District school buses and other student transportation vehicles to keep them safe and in good running order at all times. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on vehicles; performing special repairs and modifications according to facilities and tools available; maintaining repair cards for each vehicle;

and performing Bus Garage snow removal.

Applicants must be at least 19 years of age, hold a valid PA Driver's License, and have a safe driving record. Must have Class 7 inspection license or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start. Candidates holding a Pennsylvania school bus operator's license and/or having some experience in a vehicle repair operation will receive first consideration.

Starting wage is $23.70 per hour with annual increases.
