JOB OBJECTIVE

The role of Bulk Logistics Intern supports our Bulk Logistics Planner with day‑to‑day operational and transactional logistics activities. The intern will coordinate shipments, maintain logistics data, support execution tasks, and contribute to analytical and market intelligence projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Logistics Coordination & Execution
    • Coordinate and schedule shipments with warehouses, carriers, and customers
    • Support shipment execution, tracking, and follow‑up to ensure timely delivery
    • Execute small parcel shipments (e.g., DHL, Fed Ex) for product trials, samples, and customer testing
  • Operational & Transactional Support
    • Maintain and update inventory and logistics data in internal tracking tools with a high level of accuracy
    • Collect, organize, and track freight quotes from multiple carriers
    • Support the Bulk Logistics Planner with day‑to‑day operational and transactional logistics activities
  • Analysis & Reporting
    • Assist with ad‑hoc analysis related to logistics operations, pricing, market intelligence, and supply chain initiatives
    • Prepare reports, summaries, and data to support ongoing and special projects

  • Fundamental understanding of supply chain and logistics principles
  • Basic knowledge of shipping methods, carriers, and warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking and data management concepts
  • Awareness of logistics execution processes and freight coordination
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to work with data, spreadsheets, and basic supply chain metrics
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to support ad‑hoc reporting and analysis
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, including identifying issues and proposing solutions
  • Professional communication with internal teams, warehouses, carriers, and customers
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Recent graduate or currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field
  • Previous internship experience or relevant coursework in logistics or supply chain
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. This company does not sponsor applicants for work visas.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple work locations as needed
  • Strong working proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company.
  • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 60 pounds as needed
  • Frequent sitting, standing, moving forward/back/side‑to‑side, and working around greenhouse and laboratory equipment; exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible
  • Ability to work in an area where pesticides are used
