You will play an essential role in delivering smooth, high-quality roadway and infrastructure projects across New York City. Operating heavy paving machinery, you will ensure precise depth, mat consistency, and joint integrity on major municipal builds. • Operate asphalt spreader equipment to lay uniform asphalt mats to required project depth and slope.
• Control screed heating elements, augers, and automatic grade controls to ensure flawless surface smoothness.
• Inspect incoming asphalt material temperatures to verify mix specifications before spreading.
• Guide roller operators and ground crews to achieve maximum compaction and seamless joint matchings.
• Maintain assigned heavy equipment daily through routine cleaning, lubrication, and safety checks.
• Collaborate with project superintendents to maintain steady production speed and eliminate paving downtime.

• Proven hands-on experience running an asphalt spreader or paving screed on heavy construction jobs.
• Deep understanding of mat thickness, crown adjustments, joint setting, and grade controls.
• Reliable personal transportation to travel directly to job sites throughout Queens and Brooklyn.

• Prior experience working within a unionized civil or utility construction environment.
• Familiarity with NYC DOT specifications and asphalt paving standards.
• Strong track record of equipment maintenance and safe machinery operation.
