Staten Island, NY Industry: Electrical Construction – Commercial Interior Fit-Out

Freedom Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its Staten Island team. This is a key estimating position focused primarily on commercial interior fit-out projects throughout Staten Island, Brooklyn, and select areas of New Jersey.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 10+ years of electrical construction/estimating experience and a strong understanding of Local 3 labor and commercial interior work. Prior Local 3 field experience is highly valued, particularly for candidates who transitioned from the field into estimating.

This does not need to be a Chief Estimator. Freedom Electric is looking for a strong, hands-on estimator who understands how electrical work is actually built, can accurately price projects, and can manage a steady volume of bids.

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial interior fit-out projects up to approximately $5M
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, addenda and project requirements
• Perform detailed takeoffs for electrical materials, equipment and labor
• Accurately incorporate Local 3 labor requirements, productivity and costs
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks and value-engineering opportunities
• Prepare approximately 10 estimates/bids per week, depending on project size and complexity
• Work closely with ownership, estimating and operations to ensure competitive and accurate bids
• Participate in bid reviews and project handoffs following award
• Maintain organized estimating records and historical pricing information

• Approximately 10+ years of electrical construction and/or estimating experience
• Strong commercial interior fit-out experience is essential
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, materials, labor and installation methods
• Local 3 experience strongly preferred, particularly candidates with prior field experience
• Experience estimating commercial electrical projects ranging up to $5M
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and construction documents
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high-volume estimating environment
• Knowledge of the NYC electrical construction market
• Candidates located in Staten Island, Brooklyn or nearby New Jersey are especially well positioned for the role

• Base Salary: competitive depending on experience
