Unit Manager

Responsibilities:

* Coordinates the care of Residents through collaboration with other departments.

* Communicates with families regarding the Resident's plan of care and any changes in the condition of the Resident.

* Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of needs and current developments.

* Evaluates rotation of staff and adjusts section assignments as needed.

* Promotes positive public relations for the nursing unit and department.

* Responsible for conducting monthly meetings and educating staff on new policies relating to the nursing department.

* Oversees the implementation of new policies and procedures and periodically reviews current procedures, working in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development as needed.

* Directs volunteers assigned to the unit with the assistance of the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

* Current NYS Registered Nurse License

Education:

* High School Diploma/GED

* BSN
