The job summary involves overseeing the University Philanthropic Foundation and Athletic Foundation general accounting and financial reporting to ensure transaction accuracy, reporting accuracy, and high-level customer service is delivered to internal and external customers. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, budget management, report development, generation and analysis, budget to actual reporting, financial statement preparation and analysis, investment accounting, accounting research and problem resolution, reconciliation processes, assisting CFO with cash management and other operational needs and projects related to the financial activities and initiatives of the organizations.

The responsibilities include serving on the Chief Financial Officer's Leadership team, assisting CFO with audit and tax return compliance, overseeing investment, endowment and administrative fee activity for the Foundations, developing, implementing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures and internal controls, working closely with the university finance and business office on accounting matters, managing and overseeing staff responsible for management of E&G ("state") budget activities, serving as "in-house" expert on Blackbaud Financial Edge Accounting/Reporting module, supervising Accounting staff responsible for accounts payable, budget reporting, general ledger support, ad hoc reporting, bank and other account reconciliations and other tasks typical of accounting staff, assigning and delegating responsibility for work deadlines as appropriate.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in accounting and four (4) or more years of experience in accounting.

Preferred qualifications include Certified Public Accountant, Raisers Edge and Financial Edge experience, Nonprofit and Fund Accounting experience, and supervisory experience.

The proposed salary is $97,000 - $100,000. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include consistently exhibiting engaging customer service, ability to support various constituencies served by the University, proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position, ability to confidently work independently as a proactive leader comfortable with a high degree of collaboration with multiple units, departments, and divisions, ability to effectively create and deliver content through face-to-face, online, and hybrid training and workshops, adherence to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success, effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills, and effectiveness in working with faculty and professional staff on best practices in student academic support and success strategies.
