Child Development Assistant

Job Summary

Assist the Child Development Specialist in infant, toddler, and/or preschool classrooms.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum
  • Provide safe, stimulating environment for young children
  • Conduct individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills
  • Help prepare and/or serve children's meals
  • Maintain appropriate records of attendance and activities
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or two (2) or more years of post‑secondary education

Other

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification in First Aid and infant, child and adult CPR

Required Experience:

  • One (1) or more years of related work experience
Proposed Salary

$18.27 - $18.50 per hour

This is a non‑exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

Abilities:

  • Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for the specific position

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support the University's mission for student success

Skills:

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Demonstrated excellent experience with childcare
