Education Administration, University Professor
Under minimal supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is responsible for strategic leadership, management, and oversight of Health Sciences programs. The Dean analyzes national and regional markets across the U.S. to determine trends and develops strategies and plans to achieve enrollment goals, ensure program quality, and provide a superior student learning experience. The Dean plans, develops, implements, and evaluates all education programs and curricula designed for online and hybrid delivery;
assesses department and program staffing needs and hires, trains, and develops instructors to achieve program growth; creates, monitors, and analyzes annual budgets. The Dean works in collaboration with other Academic Deans to identify and obtain faculty participation in marketing and recruitment activities, to offer appropriate programs and courses, develop schedules, and complies with accreditation standards of individual programs and with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Three years of related academic leadership work experience.
- Documented experience leading programmatic accreditation in one or more of the following: MAERB, ACEN, CAHEP, JRCERT, CODA, NAEMT or any other Health Science related programmatic accreditor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Experience in curriculum planning and administration of programs, including market research and needs assessment, utilization of varied instructional methodologies, program development, recruitment and retention, and student learning outcomes in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated skills in training, personnel development, and assessment.
- Work experience in online instruction and with learning management software (Blackboard).
