International Student Admissions and Programs
Serve as an International Student Advisor (ISA) and Designated School Official (DSO) for Georgia Southern's international studentpopulation. The International Student Coordinator providesimmigration and cultural assistance in support of international student immigration compliance, retention, and graduation. The International Student Coordinator ensures Student and Exchange Visitors Information System (SEVIS) compliance and implementsstudent programs and workshops that promote the success and retention of international students, adhering to best practices.
Responsibilities- Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), advising and assisting international students on F-1 visa regulations and benefits
- Maintain data in the SEVIS system, providing reports asneeded
- Counsel and refer international students to University resources
- Assist with the I-20 process, communication, and support services for newly admitted international students
- Maintain compliance with federal regulations and institutionalpolicies
- Coordinate meaningful international programs (including international orientation) and advise the International Ambassadorsstudent group
- Serve as a campus advocate and resource for internationalstudents
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three (3) or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) or more years of experience as a DSO
- Familiarity with F-1 federal immigration regulations
- Master's Degree
- Experience with Banner and Terra Dotta software
- Intercultural communication skills
- Experience working with international students within higher education or comparable environment
$23.80 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
