Job Description

Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in History courses. Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the History field. Develops program and syllabi, goals, and objectives. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. Performs related academic duties including, but not limited to, developing course outlines, class presentations, and ensuring compliance with institutional, TCSG, and accreditation standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in History or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in History from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience as an instructor/teacher in a secondary or postsecondary setting.
  • Excellent human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postsecondary teaching experience.
  • Three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years.
  • Experience in distance education and demonstrated use of technology.
